Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
SkateX (skatex.com.au) provides community session archives and video highlights for quad, roller, and inline skaters attending scheduled rink sessions. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, store, and manage video recordings, images, and user account information.
2. Session Video & Photo Capture
Footage published on SkateX is recorded during community rink sessions (such as Saturday night sessions). Recordings capture open rink skating, freestyle routines, group skate jams, and rink atmosphere.
- Participants: Skaters and attendees visible during open rink sessions may appear in wide-angle, tracking, or handheld footage.
- Notice: Signs or session announcements inform participants that sessions are recorded for community archive and skater review.
3. Gated Access & Account Security
Session recordings, raw video files, and photo galleries are not publicly exposed to anonymous web crawlers or open search engines. Access requires an authenticated member account provided through SellTime Auth.
- Session archives are protected behind authentication controls.
- Website tokens and session states are securely stored in your browser's local storage and transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
- Credentials are strictly for personal, member-use only and must not be shared.
4. AI Video Analysis & Ethical Data Standards
SkateX utilizes modern AI tools (such as Vertex Gemini / Google Cloud AI) to assist with video cataloging, generate timestamped trick/moment bookmarks, and categorize session highlights (e.g. spins, jumps, jam skating routines).
5. Your Rights: Removal & Opt-Out Requests
We believe every skater deserves full control over their presence in community footage:
- Takedown / Clip Deletion: Any skater (or parent/guardian of a minor) visible in a video or photo can request immediate removal or blurring of the clip.
- How to Request: Simply notify the session organizers at the rink or submit a request citing the session date and filename. Requests are honored without hesitation.
6. Data Storage & Infrastructure
All video and image assets are stored in secure cloud containers (Microsoft Azure Blob Storage) with TLS 1.3 encryption in transit. Media streams are optimized for web playback and protected against unauthorized directory scraping.
7. Contact Us
For inquiries, privacy questions, or removal requests regarding session recordings, please speak with rink organizers during Saturday night sessions or contact us through our website at skatex.com.au.
